PUBLIC SAFETY TITLE 5. FIREARMS SUBTITLE 1. REGULATED FIREARMS Md. PUBLIC SAFETY Code Ann. § 5-141 (2014) § 5-141. Knowing participation in straw purchase (a) Prohibited. -- A dealer or other person may not be a knowing participant in a straw purchase of a regulated firearm to a minor or to a person prohibited by law from possessing a regulated firearm. (b) Penalty. -- A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 10 years or a fine not exceeding $ 25,000 or both.
